Expect the unexpected – Bellydance in EdmontonRaq-a-Belly dance! (pronounced “rockabelly”) is a beautiful women’s dance troupe based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. To experience a Raq-a-Belly dance! show is to treat yourself to an adventure of the unexpected.
Your journey will take you from the smoky perfume of Egyptian cabaret performances, along Marco Polo’s spice route, to the fusion of the exotic tribal Indian dance with side trips to the Bedouin camps of North African tribal dance. This feast for the eyes is embellished with costumes of billowing skirts trimmed in traditional Afghani silver, of delicate silks festooned in crystals and flames of riotous colour.
